Some machines do have souls. The proof? The Triumph Speed Triple. There’s never been a machine quite like it and a lot of its amazing character is down to its 130PS (128bhp) fuel-injected three-cylinder motor, which stirs the soul as it devours the streets.

While the engine churns out massive performance (NOW 1050cc triple for 05!!) the Speed Triple’s superb chassis carves corners in iconic style, thanks to a muscular aluminum frame, single-sided swing-arm and fully adjustable suspension front and rear. A sharp steering angle of 23.5° combines with a short 1429mm (56.2in) wheelbase for total precision.

Braking provided by 320mm discs and four-piston radial-mounted calipers, the Speed Triple possesses phenomenal stopping power and, when combined with the superlative chassis, inverted forks, and grunt-laden engine, ensures a motorcycle that is much more than mere decoration. The fact that it looks so good is an obvious bonus and the Speed Triple’s paintwork options, Fusion White, Jet Black, Neon Blue or stunning new Scorched Yellow, give the opportunity to be as loud – or reserved – as the owner wishes.

Triumph’s range of tailor-made Speed Triple accessories, including color-matched belly pan, fly screen, high-level performance exhaust (for circuit use only) and luggage give scope for personalization of what is already a very personal motorcycle.
